Lion World Travel’s Africa Specialist Previews Luxury Tanzania Safari Adventure
Review by Mandy, Safari Specialist from South Africa
To say that Africa, as soon as it gets into your blood, will never leave, is an understatement. Having grown up in South Africa, I’m not sure if going to Tanzania made it more special for me, or if it’s just that Africa is a feeling. I think everyone who visits can understand. It’s the wide-open skies, the incredible sunsets, and animal calls. The scenery, the animals, the people, it’s not just one thing; it’s the collection of it all.
Traveling to Tanzania
I was lucky enough to travel to Tanzania at the end of the rainy season in May. The skies were still dark, then light, then raining, then sunny, which made for dramatic scenery and photos. The animals we saw were abundant, from predators to antelopes, from flowers to ants. Everything was a wonder. The people of Tanzania cannot do too much for their guests, the service amazing, the food excellent, and the landscapes breathtaking.
The Wonderful Wildlife on a Tanzania Safari
From Lazy lions in the grass, birds in flight from the lake and giraffes meandering around the plains, everything is a sight to behold. Whether you’ve seen many or this is your very first safari, it’s all the senses that work together to expose you to the gift that Africa has to give – memories and real animal kingdom nature. Listening to bird calls when they know a lion is around, smelling the ground after a little rain, seeing a zebra crossing (a literal one) and feeling the excitement of it all, is something no one can ever forget. Whether it’s your first safari or one of many, it’s the harmony of all your senses that gifts you with the truest essence of Africa – memories, wildlife, and untamed nature.

Frequently Asked Questions - Luxury Tanzania Safari
Q: When is the best time of year to do this safari?
- A: While the itinerary is great year-round, we recommend the best time for guests to go based on what they want to see or do. The dry season from June to October is ideal for wildlife spotting, while December to February is a great time to extend your trip to a beach destination like Zanzibar. For the best value, fewer crowds, and abundance of young wildlife, we highly recommend traveling November through May.
Q: What kind of accommodations can we expect?
- A: Lion World Travel uses 4 & 5-star lodges and camps that offer a great balance of comfort and genuine bush experiences. Luxury Tanzania safari features a 3-night stay in the newly opened Kimarishe Serengeti Lodge.
