Travel Protection Plan

Whether protecting your trip or anticipating the unexpected, travel protection is a necessity when considering a trip to Africa. It is also mandatory in traveling with Lion World Travel as it is requirement from our travel partners in Africa. Travel Protection also offers some peace of mind so you can fully enjoy your adventures.
Travel protection needs to at least cover trip interruption, travel delays, emergency evacuation and emergency medical expenses to adequately protect your trip.
Lion World Travel offers a travel protection plan designed for safari vacations. For enquiries, please contact the plan administrator at 1-800-266-8062. You may also arrange travel protection through other travel insurance providers.
Lion World Travel’s Protection Plan includes the following benefits and limits per person (USD):
- Trip Cancellation: Up to 100% of the total trip cost
- Trip Interruption: Up to 150% of the total trip cost
- Trip Delay (12+ hours): Up to US$ 3,000 (US$ 300 per day)
- Emergency Accident/Sickness Medical Expenses: Up to US$ 50,000
- Emergency Dental: Up to US$ 2,500
- Emergency Medical Evacuation/Repatriation of Remains: Up to US$ 100,000
- Accidental Death & Dismemberment: Up to US$ 100,000 for Air Flight Only, Up to US$ 25,000 for Any Other Circumstance
- Baggage & Personal effects Loss: Up to US$ 2,500
- Baggage Delay: Up to US$ 500
- Worldwide Emergency Assistant services provided by CareFree Travel Assistance 24/7 travel assistance, medical assistance services, and other travel related emergency services.

This plan may be purchased up to final payment; however, you much purchase the plan within 2 days of initial payment to be eligible for the waiver of the Pre-Existing Condition Exclusion.

If you are purchasing a Travel Protection Plan outside of Lion World Travel, your coverage should meet at least the following amounts:
- Trip Cancellation: 100% cost of the trip
- Trip Interruption: Cost of the trip (excluding air)
- Trip Delay: US$ 150/day, US$750 total per person
- Emergency Evacuation/Repatriation: US$ 100,000 per person
- Emergency Medical Expenses: US$ 25,000 per person
