PCR Testing – we can’t take the test for you, but we’ve got the where and how covered!

Most countries and airlines require proof of a negative Covid PCR test. As your safari experts, we know their requirements and will take care of scheduling tests during your travels in Rwanda, so that it’s conveniently planned into your itinerary and taking into consideration that results take between 24-72 hours. Tests cost between $100 and $330 per person, per test including transport to the testing facility. Your Africa Specialist will give you more information as it relates to your itinerary.

Day 1 - Kigali

We will welcome you at Kigali airport and transfer you to your city hotel. The 5-star Kigali Serena features newly-renovated rooms decorated in typically pan-African style with all the comforts you would expect to allow for a night of relaxation before your exciting gorilla trekking experience.

Accommodation: Kigali Serena Hotel - Standard Room

Day 2 - Kigali/Virunga Volcanoes Mountain

This morning take a poignant and moving tour of the Genocide Memorial Centre, a permanent memorial for victims of the genocide of 1994. The Centre is built on a site where over 250,000 people are buried, and is a place where many people who lost loved ones in the genocide go to remember and grieve. Then enjoy a scenic drive to Kinigi at the base of Sabinyo Mountains, with excellent views of the Virunga Volcanoes Mountains, a World Heritage site and home to approximately 200 of the world's remaining 790 Mountain Gorillas.

We returned two weeks ago from our Rwanda Gorilla Trek. It was the most amazing trip of our lives. Wildlife everywhere!!! Lion World took care of everything. The lodges were top notch, the food was good, the guides were outstanding. I would not hesitate to book with Lion World and can’t wait to find time for a return trip.
