The 4 star Commodore Hotel exemplifies deluxe accommodation, stylish living and quality service, overlooking the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, with views of Table Mountain, Robben Island, the Harbor and the Atlantic Ocean. DAY 2 - CAPE TOWN

After breakfast today, you will depart to Table Mountain, the most iconic landmark of South Africa, and the beginning of your Cape Peninsula Tour.

The main feature of Table Mountain is the level plateau from one side to the other, edged by impressive cliffs. The plateaus flanked by Devil’s Peak and by Lion’s Head, form a dramatic backdrop to Cape Town. Table Mountain is often covered by clouds to form the so-called "tablecloth" of cloud.

Please note that the cable car-ride up Table Mountain is weather dependent.  Not only is Table Mountain a scenic photograph background or a place from where you can take some breathtaking photos of Cape Town, there are about 2,200 species of plants and 1,470 floral species found there.

After taking in the awesome views, you will depart on a Cape Peninsula Tour, exclusively for our Lion World Travel guests.

Sunset from Table Mountain

On this tour you will see why the area earned the name of The Fairest Cape.  Sit back and relax, as you drive along the exquisite stretch of coastline known as Millionaire’s Paradise – from Clifton to Camps Bay, towards the charming working harbour of Hout Bay. The tour then winds its way along the legendary Chapman’s Peak Drive, hugging the cliffs and relishing the breathtaking ocean views. After a stop for lunch (your own account), visit the wild and beautiful Cape of Good Hope Section of the Table Mountain National Park, an integral part of the world-renowned Cape Floral Kingdom.

Penguins at Boulders Beach

You will have the opportunity to ride the Flying Dutchman funicular (included) to the old lighthouse for awe-inspiring views!  Finally, the tour makes its way back along the coast towards the City, visiting the historic naval port of Simon’s Town and the endearing African penguin colony at Boulders Beach.

Did you know that the African Penguin used to be called a “jackass” penguin because its call is similar to that of a braying donkey!

ACCOMMODATION: COMMODORE HOTEL - STANDARD ROOM (B)

DAY 3 - CAPE TOWN

After a leisurely breakfast you will be met by your guide for your tour to the Franschhoek Valley in the Cape Winelands. The first stop will be the Anthonij Rupert Wine Farm. It’s a beautiful property where you will have a mini–High Tea, snacks, and Cap Classique sparkling wine tasting.

Your next stop is the world renowned Haute Cabriere Winery for a wine tasting and a fun and insightful cellar tour, including a Sabrage demonstration (Sabrage is a technique for opening a champagne bottle with a saber). Haute Cabrière is a true family affair, and everyone is invited!

The next stop is La Bourgogne Wine Farm which was among the first Huguenot farms proclaimed in 1694, where you will enjoy an olive oil tasting followed by lunch, where the chef creates an amazing menu using a lot of ingredients grown on the farm.

Finally, you will have time to take a stroll down the main road in the quaint town of Franschhoek where you will find world-class shops and boutiques. Return to your hotel in the late afternoon.

We can arrange a private guide and vehicle to tailor make a day out for you based on your personal interests or reserve space on one of the scheduled tours (shared with other guests or on a private basis) we offer.  We have made some suggestions below, for pricing on these and a few more options, please click on the following link: Day Tour Options and Prices in Cape Town.
