The experience educates our guests on the importance of natural ecosystems or wildlife conservation and contributes to their restoration or repopulation by staying at Ol Pejeta Conservancy, which works to conserve wildlife, provide a sanctuary for great apes, and to generate income through wildlife tourism and complementary enterprise for reinvestment in conservation and communities.
Today, Ol Pejeta is the largest black rhino sanctuary in east Africa, and home to two of the world’s last remaining northern white rhino. It is the only place in Kenya to see chimpanzees, in a Sanctuary established to rehabilitate animals rescued from the black market. It has some of the highest predator densities in Kenya, and still manages a very successful livestock programme. Ol Pejeta also seeks to support the people living around its borders, to ensure wildlife conservation translates to better education, healthcare and infrastructure for the next generation of wildlife guardians.
PCR Testing – we can’t take the test for you, but we’ve got the where and how covered!
Most countries and airlines require proof of a negative Covid PCR test. As your safari experts, we know their requirements and will take care of scheduling tests during your travels in Kenya, so that it’s conveniently planned into your itinerary and taking into consideration that results take between 24-72 hours. Tests cost between $100 and $330 per person, per test including transport to the testing facility. Your Africa Specialist will give you more information as it relates to your itinerary.
Day 1 - Depart USA
Depart on your fight from New York (JFK) or Washington, D.C. to Nairobi.
Day 2 - Arrive Nairobi
On arrival at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met by a Lion World Travel Representative and transferred to the 5 star Nairobi Serena Hotel.
Dinner tonight is included at your hotel.

Day 3 - Nairobi/Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Depart in a specially designed 4-wheel drive Safari Land cruiser that is custom designed with a pop-up roof for maximum game viewing as you drive to Sweetwaters Serena Camp located in a private conservancy.
Stay in upgraded Morani luxury tents, each with its own private veranda overlooking the waterhole. All tents come with complete modern amenities including an ensuite bathroom, WIFI connectivity and safes.

Day 4 - Nakuru/Lake Elmenteita
After breakfast drive towards Lake Elmenteita with a brief stop at the Thompson's Falls for a breathtaking view of the great scenery, arriving in time for lunch at the 5 star Lake Elmenteita Serena Lodge.
This afternoon, you will proceed to the cliff overlooking the lake for sundowner drinks with magnificent views.

Day 5 - Lake Elmenteita
Drive to Lake Nakuru National Park, one of the best game viewing parks with various animal species including prides of lion, Cape buffalo, waterbucks, warthogs, Rothschild giraffes, black and white Rhino, Burchell’s zebra, impalas, and the elusive leopard.
Return to camp for lunch. This afternoon there will be an interactive cooking class where you will be taught how to make local African dishes.

Day 6 - Lake Elmenteita/Maasai Mara National Reserve
Depart on a game drive with a picnic lunch to the Maasai Mara National Reserve with its wonderful scenery and amazing game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where you may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed centuries ago.
Take an afternoon game-drive in this magnificent game reserve, arriving at the 4 star Mara Serena Safari Lodge later in the day.

Day 7 - Maasai Mara National Reserve
Depart on an early morning game drive to view the abundance of wildlife in the Mara.
All of the "Big Five" - lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant and leopard - are here, as well as cheetah, hippo, hartebeest, gazelle, topi, antelope, zebra and many more other animals. The Mara is also noted for its abundance of lions - particularly the superb black maned males.

Day 8 - Maasai Mara National Reserve
For the ultimate Mara experience a superb breakfast has been arranged for you, at the local Hippo Pool.
After a relaxing day at the camp, you will head out on another game drive in the late afternoon.

Day 9 - Maasai Mara/Nairobi/Depart
After breakfast depart the Maasai Mara and drive to Nairobi. Arrive in time for lunch at the Crowne Plaza Airport Hotel before you are dropped off at Nairobi's Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your scheduled flight. (B, L)
Day 10 - Arrive USA
Arrive back in the US.
