The Victoria Falls Hotel is the oldest hotel in Zimbabwe, built in 1904 when the planned Cape to Cairo railway reached the Victoria Falls. Set in the Victoria Falls National Park with a private path to the Victoria Falls, the hotel has an atmosphere steeped in history, combining the charm of the old with the comfort and convenience of today. The guest rooms are equipped with air-conditioning, satellite television, mini-bars in suites, complimentary early morning tea/coffee, telephone, safe, 24-hour room service, bathrobes, hairdryer and umbrellas. Hotel facilities include a restaurant, swimming pool and private path to the falls as well as E-lounge and curio shop. Set in acres of lush lawns and exotic flora; enjoy a wonderful view of the Falls and acres of gardens as you sit on the porch. The hotel is only a few minutes walk from the center of Victoria Falls Town and a ten-minute walk along the hotel's private path from the actual Falls.

Day 2
After breakfast you will be taken on a guided tour of Victoria Falls.
No surprise why Victoria Falls is one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World! The sight of this astounding gift of nature simply takes your breath away! The Falls are approximately 1.7km/1mile wide and 128m/420feet high and are considered a remarkable spectacle because of the peculiar narrow slot-like chasm into which the water falls, so one can view the falls face-on. David Livingstone, a Scottish explorer, visited the falls in 1855 and renamed them after Queen Victoria, though they were known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya " the Smoke that Thunders". Livingstone was so moved by what he saw that he wrote: "Scenes so lovely must have been gazed upon by angels in their flight". The Victoria Falls is the largest single sheet of water in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Complete the day with a late afternoon Sunset Cruise on the mighty Zambezi River.
Enjoy a tranquil wildlife sunset cruise along the Zambezi River above the mighty Victoria Falls. The great Zambezi River starts in northwest Zambia and meanders for 1700miles/2740kms through several countries and empties into the Indian Ocean at Mozambique. One has a unique vantage point to watch hippo, crocodile and other animals that come to the river's edge to drink. You might even see some elephants along the riverbank or on one of the many islands that occupy this wide river. While you are sipping your cocktail, you'll be captivated by the suns dying rays as they cast a burnt-orange glow which shimmers on the river.

Muchenje accommodates just 22 guests in intimate exclusivity. Each chalet is exquisitely furnished and great care has been taken to create a true African 'ambience'. Overlooking the Chobe River and floodplains, the main lodge features a dining area, bar, reception, curio shop, game viewing platform and library. The swimming pool is built amongst natural rock formations, taking advantage of the African vista and providing a tranquil setting for guests to relax during the heat of the day.
