DAY 1 - Depart USA
Depart on your domestic flight (from 26 Major US Cities) to New York (JFK) or Washington (Dulles) to connect with your international South African Airways flight to Cape Town, South Africa via Johannesburg.
DAY 2 - Johannesburg/Cape Town
On arrival at Johannesburg’s Oliver Tambo International Airport connect on to your onward flight to Cape Town.
On arrival at Cape Town Airport you will be met by a Lion World Travel representative and transferred to The Twelve Apostles Hotel & Spa. This intimate 5-star boutique hotel fully lives up to its stunning location - On one side, the majestic Twelve Apostles Mountains reach towards the heavens; on the other, the sun sets on breeching whales, playful dolphins, and crashing Atlantic rollers.

Day 4 - Cape Town
You will be picked up from your hotel for your full day Hermanus and More Tour. En-route to the fishing village of Hermanus, visit the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley to sample some wines at a boutique winery. The name Hemel en Aarde Valley (Heaven and Earth Valley) produces some of the best Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinotage, Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz wines in the country.
On arrival in Hermanus - the best land-based whale watching spot in the world, enjoy a brief orientation tour and some land based whale watching. It is the Biggest Show on Earth – no tickets, no reservations – just sit yourself down and watch! Hermanus is rich in breathtaking scenery; with its unparalleled picturesque beauty, modern infrastructure and up-market shops. Enjoy a two course set menu lunch, including a glass of wine at Harbour Rock which is situated on the top of the cliff overlooking the bustling Hermanus harbor. This is the ideal setting to take in the breathtaking views across the bay; an outlook that is surpassed only by the restaurant's ambience and highly acclaimed menu.
Hermanus Whale Crier
After lunch, return to Cape Town via Somerset West, where you will visit the Cheetah Sanctuary. The Cheetah Outreach project has been set up to educate people about cheetahs, as well as to raise funds for initiatives to prevent their extinction in South Africa. It is here where you will meet the world’s fastest land animals. (Entrance fee is included, but the cost of an encounter is for your own account.) Return to your hotel later in the afternoon.

DAY 6 - CAPE TOWN/JOHANNESBURG/HOEDSPRUIT
Today you will be transferred from your Hotel to Cape Town Airport in time for your scheduled flight to Johannesburg, where you will connect with your flight to Hoedspruit. Upon arrival at Hoedspruit Airport you will be met and transferred to your lodge.
Within the expansive Kapama Private Game Reserve, River Lodge epitomises five-star safari accommodation. The majestic northern Drakensberg Mountains form the backdrop to River Lodge, which is positioned along a bend of the seasonal Kapama River. It’s the largest luxury game lodge in the Greater Kruger National Park area, and is stylishly furnished to ensure an unforgettable African safari experience. The spa suites offer expansive glass doors and frameless windows allowing unobstructed bush views, including from the bathroom. Each suite is equipped with a minibar, coffee and tea-making facilities, as well as a safe, hairdryer and international plugs.On game drives you are accompanied by a skilled ranger and tracker, and one can expect to encounter a diverse range of animal and bird species on game drives. Since this is a Big Five reserve, seeing lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo is possible.

DAY 7 - KAPAMA RIVER LODGE
The day starts with an early wake-up call. While seeing big game is always exhilarating, there are many other smaller species that are also captivating, and birding enthusiasts will be delighted at the approximately 350 species of birds recorded on the reserve. Halfway through the game drive, there’s a stop for hot drinks and snacks, before returning to the lodge for a full breakfast.
Throughout the day, it’s likely you will see wildlife around the lodge – nyala antelope and vervet monkeys are frequent visitors, though seeing some of the Big Five is also not uncommon.
In the late afternoon everyone gathers for a decadent high tea, before heading out with your ranger and tracker for the afternoon game drive through the reserve. En route you will stop for a drink as the sun sets over the distant peaks of the Drakensberg mountains.As darkness falls, the nocturnal animals of the bush come out. The skilled tracker will scan the landscape using a spotlight, which illuminates animals’ eyes. A variety of completely different species can be seen on the night drive back to the lodge. Arrive back at the lodge with time to freshen up before enjoying a sumptuous dinner.

DAY 8 - KAPAMA RIVER LODGE
Enjoy morning and afternoon game viewing activities in this wilderness paradise. Game drives in an open safari vehicle offer guests the opportunity to see the ‘Big Five’ and a large variety of smaller wildlife. Guests set out in the early morning and late afternoon accompanied by highly skilled game rangers, who provide interesting information and anecdotes about the inhabitants of the bush.

DAY 9 - HOEDSPRUIT/JOHANNESBURG
After an early morning game drive to track the animals that may have eluded you so far, followed by breakfast, you will be transferred to Hoedspruit Airport for your flight back to Johannesburg.On arrival at Johannesburg's Oliver Tambo International Airport, connect with your scheduled international South African Airways flight back to the USA.
