Day 3
Today your private guide will collect you for a tour to the Cape Peninsula at the south western tip of the Cape, and the most spectacular views in the world. The drive there is just as inspiring, passing steep mountains, secluded coves and sweeping beaches, as well as villages and fishing communities. En route you will stop at the fishing village of Hout Bay, one of Cape Town's best-kept secrets. Here there is an option to take a short boat trip to Duiker Island to view the Cape Fur Seals, which inhabit the island. From here we travel to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. Here we can see a variety of wildlife that includes baboons, rhebok, Cape Mountain zebra, bontebok and the elusive eland. The reserve is also one of the world's largest breeding grounds for tortoises.
Continue to Boulders Beach where you visit the delightful Penguin colony that has established itself on the secluded beach. Finally on return to Cape Town you will take the Cable Car to the top of Table Mountain where you will enjoy refreshments and canapés as you enjoy the view from the top and watch the sun set over the city.
Day 4
Today you're headed for the Cape Winelands which provide the perfect opportunity to sample and purchase some of South Africa's finest wines, as well as enjoy the beauty of the area with it's vineyards and gracious Cape Dutch manor houses.
Make your way to Franschhoek with it's cultural and historical heritage of the French Huguenots who settled there in 1688. This little village nestled amongst the mountains, can easily be mistaken as being in Switzerland. Continue on to Stellenbosch. It is easy to understand why Simon van der Stel decided to settle a village amongst the mountains. The backdrop of the Hottentots Holland Mountains, the white gabled Cape Dutch homesteads and the oak lined streets and lanes all blend in to give this place a charm that will not be quickly forgotten.
Your lunch will be taken at Moyo at Spier in your own private tree house. Moyo offers an unforgettable outdoor dining experience that captures the essence of the unique Cape African culture. Relax and enjoy the spectacular vistas while you are treated to our own colourful brand of Cape African hospitality. The tree-lined garden is filled with Bedouin tents and gazebos made from wrought iron and the tree houses are clad with beautiful hand crafted copper water features. Live performers will entertain you to indigenous theatre, dance, opera and traditional storytelling.
