Day 01
Depart Washington for your flight to Windhoek, Namibia via Johannesburg on South African Airways.

Day 02
Upon arrival at Johannesburg International Airport you will have to go through Immigration and clear Customs, re-check your bags and then proceed for your onward flight to Windhoek. Upon arrival at Windhoek Airport you will you will collect your Category B car rental. You will then self drive to the Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino in Windhoek. Accommodation will be reserved for you for one night in a standard room inclusive of breakfast. The Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino is centrally situated in the city of Windhoek. There are a total of 173 rooms which are decorated to blend into their earthy surroundings. The colour scheme is taken from the golden hues of the dunes and combined with the reddish tones of the bushman paintings. Each room has the following amenities: air conditioning and heating, colour TV, video channel, radio, telephone, bath, shower, electric shaver plug, hairdryer, refrigerator, coffee making facilities, room service available 24 hours per day and safety deposit boxes (on request). Resort facilities include shopping; a gym; a sauna; a nearby sports club offering guests golf, tennis, squash and bowls; horse-riding facilities are also in close proximity and the beautiful aqua blue pool is situated on the roof of the hotel. Dining and bar facilities include: The Dunes - A la carte & buffet carvery, The Terrace - Cocktails and drinks, Oasis Bar Lounge - Sundowners and pre-dinner drinks and The Casino Bar - drinks. Conference facilities are available, the maximum capacity of which are between 50 and 200 delegates depending n seating arrangements.

Day 03
This morning after breakfast and check-out procedures, self drive to Namib Naukluft Park in the Sossusvlei. Accommodation will be reserved for you for two nights in a standard room inclusive of breakfast. The Namib Desert unique with a variety of desert landscapes, gives the country its essential character. The best spot to experience the living desert is on this 13 000 hectare farm, which hosts the upmarket Namib Naukluft Lodge. Sunning scenery invites you to walks and nature drives. Enjoy your stay in unexpected comfort and friendly hospitality. Each of the 16 tastefully furnished rooms offer en suite facilities and a private spacious verandah with a striking view. Relax in the lounge and enjoy a typical sundowner on the main verandah or at the bar. Excellent traditional meals are served in the restaurant, the adjacent verandah or in the boma from the open fire.

Day 04
Today you will have the day at leisure. The lodge offers a variety of activities. An early morning rise enables you to enjoy the ever changing pastel colours of the beautiful scenery. Use the morning hours for an easy climb to the top of one of the adjacent granite hills or a walk in the vicinity. Explore the diverse flora and fauna, where the trees grow seemingly out of stones. Relax at the swimming pool during the heat of the day. During the late afternoon you may join a 'sundowner'-drive to the natural marble mountains near the lodge. Listen to the evening sounds of the 'barking gecko' - a concert never to be forgotten. The clear night sky invites you to an unreal star-gazing experience.

Day 05
This morning after breakfast and check-out procedures, self drive to The Strand Hotel in Swakopmund. Accommodation will be reserved for you for two nights in a standard room inclusive of breakfast. The Strand Hotel, one of the Namib Sun Hotels, occupies a prime location on Swakopmund's palm lined beachfront. The hotel offers 23 sea- and 22 garden facing rooms. Each comfortable double room is elegantly furnished and has a bathroom en-suite, TV with a variety of channels, telephone, hairdryer and facilities to make coffee/tea. The hotel verandah café's, bar and restaurants provide an ocean view, matched only by the excellent and varied cuisine. A kid's playground, tennis courts and a heated indoor swimming pool are available nearby.

Day 06
Today you will have the day at leisure. The hotel is the ideal base from which to explore the Namib Desert, the Cape Cross seal reserve and many other points of interest in the vicinity. Activities such as angling, quad-biking, sand-boarding, boating and camel trips into the desert are offered in Swakopmund and can be arranged on request.

Day 07
This morning after breakfast and check-out procedures, self drive to Mokuti Lodge in Etosha. Accommodation will be reserved for you for two nights in a standard room inclusive of breakfast. Luxury combined with the spirit of Etosha ... Mokuti Lodge boasts unique African charm combined with international standards of luxury - situated on the eastern edge of the Etosha National Park, renowned to be one of the most spectacular game viewing areas in Africa. Each of the chalets, set under cool thatch, is equipped with en-suite bathroom, air- conditioning and ceiling fan, telephone, fridge, hairdryer, safety deposit facilities, electric shaver plug (220 volts) and satellite TV with various channels.

Today you will be at leisure and will also take part in morning and afternoon/evening game drives.

Day 09
This morning after breakfast and check-out procedures, self drive to the Kalahari Sands Hotel and Casino in Windhoek. Accommodation will be reserved for you for one night in a standard room inclusive of breakfast.

Day 10
After breakfast you'll be transferred back to Windhoek Airport for your flight back to Johannesburg. Upon arrival in Johannesburg you will connect for your ongoing flight to Washington on South African Airways. (B)
